The Church of Witchcraft will be create talismans with attendees and will be teaching talismanic spellcraft to bolster your witchcraft.

Celebrating Litha:

When you visit our chapel for Litha, we suggest wearing business casual but dress for the occasion. We recommend bringing any tools you will need for your sacred use. Reference materials may be helpful as well.

Activities

Circle Opening:

The first part of any gathering is a meet and greet followed by opening the sacred space. This will be led by one of our clergy members. At this point the next activities will be taking place.

Ceremony and Ritual:

The chapel will have stations set up for those in attendance during the time that we will be receiving practitioners. There will be two stations set up for creating your talismans. All materials will be available for you but it may help to bring:

  • Paint and Brushes
  • Divination tools

What is Litha?

Historically, Litha draws inspiration from ancient midsummer traditions across Europe, though the modern festival was largely developed within 20th-century pagan and Wiccan movements.

  • Celebrating the sun’s power, light, abundance, and growth Lighting bonfires or candles
  • Spending time in nature
  • Gathering herbs and flowers
  • Feasting, music, and community celebrations Reflecting on personal growth and gratitude

  • The Stations of the Sun: A History of the Ritual Year in Britain by Ronald Hutton (1996): This book is a comprehensive history of the customs and beliefs which constitute the ritual year in Britain.
  • Midsummer: Rituals, Recipes & Lore for Litha by Deborah Blake (2015): Part of Llewellyn’s Sabbat Essentials series, offering a deep dive into the themes of the season.

Are Sabbats family friendly?

All of our events are intended for family engagement. Please feel free to bring friends or family with you to participate or observe.
