Celebrating Lughnasadh:
When you visit our chapel for Lughnasadh, we suggest wearing business casual but dress for the occasion. We recommend bringing any tools you will need for your sacred use. Reference materials may be helpful as well.
Activities
Circle Opening:
The first part of any gathering is a meet and greet followed by opening the sacred space. This will be led by one of our clergy members. At this point the next activities will be taking place.
Ceremony and Ritual:
The chapel will have stations set up for those in attendance during the time that we will be receiving practitioners. There will be a joint altar relating to the harvest and gratitude that will be the focus of the Sabbats workings.
What is Lughnasadh?
Lughnasadh is a traditional Celtic harvest festival celebrated around August 1, marking the beginning of the grain harvest and honoring the seasonal cycle of abundance. Named after the Celtic god Lugh, the festival historically included feasting, games, music, storytelling, and community gatherings. Today, many people celebrate Lughnasadh by sharing seasonal foods, expressing gratitude for the harvest, and spending time in nature or participating in modern pagan traditions.
